Thank you for showing an interest in Bill Quay Pre-School. We are a registered charity and non-profit organisation. We offer a curriculum for 3-5 year olds.

Our cost and outlay are all based on funding and charity based contributions. Offering full support from breakfast time – 7:50am to 3:00pm.

Statement of intent

It is our intention to make our pre-school accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community.

Aim

We aim to ensure that all sections of our community have access to the pre-school through open, fair and clearly communicated procedures.

Method

In order to achieve this aim, we operate the following admissions policy:

  • We ensure that the existence of the pre-school is widely advertised in places accessible to all sections of the community.
  • We ensure that information about our pre-school is accessible in written and spoken form, and where appropriate, in different languages.
  • We keep a place vacant, when financially viable, to accommodate an emergency admission.
  • We describe our pre-school and its practices in terms which make it clear, so that it welcomes all members of a family, including child-minders.
  • We enrol children regardless of their gender, special educational needs, background, religion, ethnicity, dietary needs or competence in spoken English.
  • We enable children with disabilities to take part in the life of the pre-school.
  • We abide by our equal opportunities policy.
  • We consult with families about the running of the pre-school and invite them for pre-school visits.
  • We are flexible about attendance patterns, it is not compulsory to attend for the 5 funded sessions.
  • We ask for a payment of £2.00 per week to assist in the cost of offering fresh fruit, milk, juice, natural spring water and cooking activities.
  • Children can attend the pre-school from their 3rd birthday, however the funding will not commence until the first full term after their birthday, therefore sessions will be offered at a cost of £8.00 each.
